AAMS

Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ (AAMS®) is a foundational certification program designed for financial professionals who want to better understand their clients’ full financial picture, beyond just investments. Created in collaboration with leading investment firms, the AAMS® designation equips advisors with essential knowledge in asset management, retirement, insurance, tax, and estate planning strategies. The AAMS® designation requires professionals to meet the following standards:

EXPERIENCE:

Designed for new and early-career financial professionals; no prior experience required, though industry familiarity is recommended.

ETHICS:

Adhere to ethical conduct and principles covered in the coursework; violation may result in loss of designation.

EDUCATION:

Complete a comprehensive online curriculum covering fundamental investment planning topics with a specific focus on asset management.

EXAM:

Pass a proctored, closed-book final exam demonstrating knowledge of investment strategies and holistic client planning.

CONTINUING COMPETENCY:

Complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years, including one hour of ethics training, to maintain the designation.
